BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. –

Sam Harrell pitched in relief and earned the victory, the 'Dogs 15
th win of the year, and first in conference play.
"We desperately needed to get this win today," said head coach
Tom Cole. "We were very disappointed that we dropped the first two games, but showed a lot of heart and character after falling behind 4-0. The girls came back; it was a punch and counter-punch type of game. We were able to land the final punch and get the win. I've got to give Sam (Harrell) a lot of credit. She pitched a great game. This was a win that we needed to get, and we're very happy that we got it."
After Campbell (12-13, 2-1 BSC) opened the game with a 4-0 lead following the top of the first, Gardner-Webb (15-12, 1-2 BSC) came storming back and pulled within a run, 4-3, after its half of the inning.
With

The Fighting Camels tacked on three runs in the second, off two hits and an error, but just one inning later, the Runnin' Bulldogs tied the contest.
A four-run third inning allowed Gardner-Webb to tie the game at seven. Prebble, K. Wacaster and

Annamarie Warley then hit a double into the gap in left center field. Her two RBI extra base hit scored Wacaster and Cumiskey.
Andria Booth batted in the final run of the inning, hustling down the line after hitting a ball at the shortstop. Stettler scored on the play and at the end of three, each team had seven runs.
A solo shot of the bat of Campbell's Izzy McCurry gave the visitors a one-run lead after the top of the fifth, but Gardner-Webb pulled in front for good in the bottom of the frame.
Prebble's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded tied the contest at eight, and K. Wacaster broke the tie with a three-run shot to center field.
Gardner-Webb added its 12

Campbell's Melissa Tullar hit a two-out solo home run in the seventh, making the score 12-9, but Harrell got a groundout to end the contest.
Harrell earned her second win of the season, giving up just two earned runs in 6.1 innings of work. She walked five and struck out five. Campbell's Haley Hutchins took the loss, surrendering six earned runs in 2.1 innings.
