Gardner-Webb Finishes Ninth At 2018 Big South Women's Golf Championship

NINETY SIX, S.C. – Gardner-Webb carded its best round of the week on Saturday, finishing ninth at the 2018 Big South Conference Women's Golf Championship.
The final round saw the Runnin' Bulldogs shoot a 324, carving 20 shots off of Friday's second round effort. Campbell won another team championship, outdistancing the field by 37 strokes.
Sophomore Allison Chandler led Gardner-Webb once again, shooting 79 on Saturday to finish in 31st position individually. The Big South Conference All-Academic selection sank three birdie putts on the day, including two on the back nine.
Kristen Wong shot an 81 to move into a tie for 37th, her third-straight round with a lower score. Freshman Lindsay Koppel had her best round of the week as well, shooting a 79 to finish tied for 40th individually. Morgan Laird wrapped up the scoring for Gardner-Webb with a round of 85 to finish in 43rd position.
Campbell's Isabell Ekstrom captured medalist honors for the tournament, edging teammate Stacey White by three strokes and Winthrop's Julie Reinertsen by six strokes.
Gardner-Webb's 2018 season is complete.
