CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After reaching double-digit singles wins and earning a 3.86 GPA in the fall of 2017, Daniela Naupari was named to the Big South Conference Women's Tennis All-Academic team.
"We are very proud of Daniela," said head coach Jim Corn. "She had a good season on the court and was dedicated in the classroom. She truly embodies what it means to be a student-athlete."
Student-athletes who are nominated for the team with at least a 3.30 GPA appeared on the ballot for Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Naupari finished third in the voting and was one of nine individuals named to the All-Academic squad.
Off the court, she boasts a 3.83 cumulative GPA, while winning 10 singles matches.
This season, Naupari went 10-7 overall, splitting time between the No. 3 and 4 flights in the regular season. She was 5-3 in Big South Conference action, giving her a .625 conference winning percentage.
The sophomore saw most of her success come in the No. 4 position as she went 7-1, falling only to Presbyterian's Samantha Calais.
Over her final 10 matches, Naupari finished 8-2.
She will look to record her 11th singles win tomorrow, Wednesday, April 18, when the eighth-seeded Runnin' Bulldogs battle No. 9 Longwood in the opening round of the Big South Conference tournament.
First serve between the 'Dogs and Lancers is set for 10 a.m. from the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, S.C. The winner of the match will advance to play No. 1 Winthrop in the quarterfinals.
