Several PRs Set at the 2019 Keydet Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. – Thirteen new personal records were set by the Gardner-Webb men's and women's indoor track and field team as the Runnin' Bulldogs took part in the two-day Keydet Invitational, hosted by VMI.
 
Patrick Sastre placed third overall in the men's 800-meter run, clocking in with a personal best time of 1:54.18.  Sam Hermanns timed in at 2:10.25 to place 40th, setting a new PR.
 
Chase Thornhill took home a sixth-place result in the men's 400-meter dash, timing in at a career-best 48.99 seconds.  Austin Buzzard placed 32nd with a time of 52.51 seconds, setting a new PR.
 
In the women's weight throw, Petra Jakeljic finished seventh overall with a toss of 16.55 meters.  Cailen Blaire placed 12th overall with a mark of 14.53 meters, and Arleasia McGee finished 18th at 13.77 meters, a new personal best.
 
Khalilah Conway earned an eighth-place finish in the women's high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.55 meters.
 
Julian Smallwood finished tenth in the men's shot put with a toss of 15.26 meters, setting a new personal record.  Nate Wonsley IV placed 16th at a personal best 14.28 meters, followed by Kenny VanVorst in 17th at 13.59 meters, a new PR.
 
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Carlos Williams, Patrick Sastre, Austin Buzzard, and Chase Thornhill finished tenth, clocking in at 3:24.00.  The team of Ezekiel Martin, Samuel Hermanns, Bogdan Podgaisky, and Mitchell Brown placed 26th at 3:45.69.
 
Tailyah Wade took home an 11th place result in the women's shot put with a mark of 12.67 meters, setting a new PR.  Arleasia McGee finished 24th with a toss of 11.17 meters, a personal best mark.
 
Kenny VanVorst placed 12th overall in the men's weight throw with a mark of 15.06 meters, setting a new personal record.  Julian Smallwood placed 22nd at 12.99 meters and Nate Wonsley IV finished in 25th at 11.36 meters.
 
Karin Sastre placed 14th in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.30 meters.  Louise Schmidtgen finished 21st overall at 3.00 meters, setting a new PR.
 
In the men's 60-meter dash, Carlos Williams clocked in at 7.08 seconds to place 14thMason Marshall finished 41st at 7.42 seconds, and Chris Tobin placed 43rd at 7.73 seconds.
 
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Khalilah Conway, Diviana Forrest, Kelsey Houser, and Hannah Jones timed in at 4:07.72 to place 14th overall.
 
Austin Evans finished in 14th in the men's triple jump with a distance of 12.58 meters.
 
In the women's 400-meter dash, Diviana Forrest timed in at 59.59 seconds to record a 16th place result.
 
Hannah Jones timed in at 2:29.44 to place 27th overall in the women's 800-meter run.  Sandra Bolstad finished 35th at 2:39.12.
 
Austin Evans placed 28th overall in the men's long jump with a mark of 5.91 meters.
 
In the men's one-mile run, Ezekiel Martin clocked in at 4:45.57 to place 32nd.
 
Sandra Bolstad finished 37th in the women's one-mile run, timing in at 5:55.83.
 
Logan McGuirt timed in at 12:28.49 in the women's 3,000-meter run, placing 37th overall.
 
In the men's 3,000-meter run, Mitchell Brown timed in at 9:57.60 to finish in 38th place.
 
Callie Rhea placed 42nd in the women's long jump with a distance of 4.17 meters.
 
In the women's 60-meter dash, Kira Ramsey timed in at 8.35 seconds to place 48th overall.  Maya Mallory clocked in at 8.55 seconds, finishing 53rd.
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action on Friday, January 25, taking part in the Liberty Kickoff, hosted by Liberty University at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.  The two-day event begins at 12:30 pm.
