Gardner-Webb Wrestling Tabbed to Finish Fifth in Preseason SoCon Wrestling Coaches Poll

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Gardner-Webb wrestling was picked to place fifth in the 2019-20 Southern Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
Gardner-Webb received a total of 26 points in the poll. Defending SoCon champion Campbell was selected as the preseason favorite by the league's eight head coaches, followed by Appalachian State and Chattanooga.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return eight starters from last season and will open the 2019-20 season on Sunday, November 3, taking part in the Hokie Open in Blacksburg, Va.
