BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's swimming team opened its 2019-20 season Saturday afternoon, falling to both Campbell and Old Domintion in tri-meet action at the Johnson Aquatic Center in Buies Creek, N.C.
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs fell to Old Dominion, 184-75, and to Campbell by a score of 193-66.
 
The day began with the 200-yard medley relay, in which the team of Charity Bennett, Audrey Robinson, Jessi Snover, and Jennifer Jackson finished fifth at 1:51.33.  The foursome of Kayla Smith, Marguerite Sesti, Mary Traylor, and Lindsey Wright placed sixth with a time of 1:53.53.
 
Hannah Carter placed fifth in the 1,000-yard freestyle, timing in at 11:09.70.  Ashley Cesario finished sixth with a time of 11:33.77.
 
In the 200-yard freestyle, Alyssa Church clocked in at 1:57.79 to finish in fifth.  Blake Broullire placed sixth with a time of 1:59.18.  Spencer Lucas placed eighth, touching the wall in 2:00.33, while Jennifer Jackson timed in at 2:03.23 to place tenth.
 
Kayla Smith finished eighth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.18.  Charity Bennett timed in at 1:01.46 to place tenth, followed by Delaney Wilette in 11^th at 1:01.65 and Cary Pou in 12^th at 1:02.93.
 
Audrey Robinson finished seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke, timing in at 1:11.36.  Marguerite Sesti touched the wall in 1:13.35 to place ninth.
 
Mary Traylor brought home a third-place result in the 200-yard butterly, clocking in at 2:07.11.
 
In the 50-yard freestyle, Blake Broullire finished seventh with a time of 25.18 seconds.  Lindsey Wright finished eighth at 25.24 seconds, followed by Charity Bennett in ninth in 25.55 seconds, and Jennifer Jackson finished tenth at 25.66 seconds.
 
Alyssa Church placed fifth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.00 seconds.  Blake Broullire finished sixth, clocking in at 54.12 seconds, Lindsey Wright finished tenth at 56.21 seconds, and Charity Bennett finished 11^th at 56.45 seconds.
 
Mary Traylor placed fifth in the 200-yard backstroke, clocking in at 2:09.84.  Delaney Willette finished eighth, touching the wall at 2:10.22, and Kayla Smith finished 11^th with a time of 2:15.35.
 
Marguerite Sesti placed sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.34.
 
Lucas Spencer finished third overall in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 5:14.22.  Alyssa Church placed eighth with a time of 5:23.24, Hannah Carter finished 11^th at 5:27.11, and Ashley Cesario finished 12^th with a time of 5:39.85.
 
Jessi Snover claimed a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.60 seconds.  Audrey Robinson finished in seventh at 1:00.02, Jennifer Jackson placed 11^th in 1:02.31, and Madolyn Aucremann finished 12^th at 1:06.89.
 
Mary Traylor finished second overall in the 200-yard IM, timing in at 2:10.28.  Spencer Lucas finished sixth with a time of 2:15.03, followed by Delaney Willette in seventh at 2:16.55.  Marguerite Sesti finished 12^th with a time of 2:24.09.
 
The meet finished up with the 200-yard freestyle relay, in which the team of Audrey Robinson, Jessi Snover, Blake Broullire, and Alyssa Church finished third with a time of 1:39.51.
 
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Friday, November 8 as the Runnin' Bulldogs host UNC Asheville at 5:00 pm at Bost Pool.
