JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Gardner-Webb men's and women's indoor track and field teams set 12 new personal records as the Runnin' Bulldogs took part in the 2019 Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational, hosted by ETSU, over the weekend.
Diviana Forrest took home the women's 200-meter dash title, clocking in at a career-best 25.27 seconds.
Kira Ramsey timed in at 27.52 seconds to place 48
th.
Julian Smallwood placed third in the men's shot put with a mark of 15.38 meters.
Nate Wonsley IV finished in 12
th with a toss of 14.51 meters, setting a new PR.
Petra Jakeljic finished third in the women's weight throw with a mark of 16.33 meters.
Cailen Blaire finished 11
th with a toss of 14.62 meters,
Taliyah Wade finished 22
nd at 13.08 meters, and
Arleasia McGee finished 26
th at 11.94 meters.
Louise Schmidtgen and
Karin Sastre tied for fourth place in the women's pole vault, each with a mark of 3.25 meters. It was a career-best mark for Schmidtgen.
Chase Thornhill took home a fourth-place finish in the men's 200-meter dash, clocking in at 22.25 seconds. In the prelims, he timed in at 21.83 seconds, setting a new PR and matching the school record set by Kevin Prime in 2005.
Carlos Williams finished 17
th with a time of 22.64 seconds.

Kenny VanVorst placed eighth in the men's weight throw with a career-best mark of 15.95 meters.

Amy Turlington recorded a ninth place finish in the women's 800-meter run, finishing with a time of 2:26.46.
Khalilah Conway finished tenth in the women's 60-meter hurdles, timing in at a career-best 9.40 seconds.
Conway also placed tenth in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters.
Taliyah Wade finished 11
th in the women's shot put with a mark of 12.08 meters.
Arleasia McGee placed 15
th with a distance of 11.53 meters, a new PR.
In the men's 800-meter run,
Patrick Sastre took home a 12
th place finish with a time of 1:59.66. Samuel Hermanns placed 45
th with a time of 2:08.16, setting a new PR.
Hannah Jones finished in 17
th place in the women's one-mile run, clocking in at a personal-best time of 5:41.10.
