LUBBOCK, Texas – The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs were unable to defeat the #15 Texas Tech Red Raiders on the final day of the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic. The 'Dogs fell, 10-2, in six innings.
Texas Tech (23-1) scored four of its 10 runs in the first inning en route to the win. A pair of doubles allowed three of the four runs to score, while the Red Raiders used an RBI single to push their fourth run across the plate.
Gardner-Webb (14-8) scored its only two runs of the game in the top of the third inning.

Kaylee Wacaster reached via a throwing error, which allowed Warley to score, cutting TTU's lead to 4-2.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were unable to get any closer, despite leadoff extra base hits from
Autumn Owen in the fourth and K. Wacaster in the sixth innings respectively.
The Red Raiders used a grand slam to score four of its six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and defeat Gardner-Webb, 10-2.
Brooke Perry (9-4) threw 5.1 innings and gave up 10 runs (six earned). She struck out 10 and walked four. Texas Tech's Missy Zoch earned the win via 5.1 innings in the circle. Zoch improved to 8-0 overall and gave up just two runs (one earned) while striking out 11.
At the plate, Texas Tech recorded 10 hits, while Gardner-Webb managed three – one each from Owen, K. Wacaster and Warley.
Gardner-Webb will play just two games next week, a doubleheader at Appalachian State on Wednesday, March 13. Game one is set to begin at 3 p.m. in Boone, N.C.
