HAMPTON, Va. – The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs cruised to a 7-0 Big South Conference win over the Hampton Pirates on Saturday to improve to 5-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

In doubles play, Adrienne Vesely and Milica Panic quickly defeated Julia D'Auvergne and Haley Mullins, 6-3, in the No. 3 flight. Miljana Ristic and Daniela Naupari clinched the doubles point for the Runnin' Buldlogs with a 6-3 win in the No. 1 position.

At No. 2 doubles, Valentine Limauge and Manon Delsol led Cherise Solcombe and Kiah Turner, 5-3, but the match went unfinished.

With 1-0 lead, Gardner-Webb won all six singles matches with five of the six taking only two sets.

Vesley was the first Runnin' Bulldog to complete a singles match, winning at No. 6 and allowing d'Auvergne to win just one game. The Plano, Texas native was victorious, 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 4 and 5, Mayumi Saguchi and Delsol surrendered just three games to their opponents between the two flights. Saguchi defeated Haley Mullins, winning set one, 6-2, before shutting her out in the second set. Delsol beat HU's Victoria Ljurgman, 6-1, 6-0.

Delsol's win in the No. 5 flight clinched the match for Gardner-Webb, but the 'Dogs ended the day by winning the final three matches to sweep the Pirates.

Naupari quickly won at No. 2, 6-0, 6-2 before Ristic finished with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 1 position.

Limuague's match with Kiah Turner was the last match to finish. Limauge dropped the first set, 3-6, before winning 6-4 to force a super tiebreaker, which she won, 10-7, to give GWU the 7-0 victory.
