CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Gardner-Webb carded a final round of 302 Sunday to finish 14th at the 2019 Tar Heel Intercollegiate at Finley Golf Course.

The Runnin' Bulldogs shot a first round 309, lowered that team score by seven strokes over the second 18 holes and wrapped up the event with an identical score on Sunday. GWU finished five strokes behind UNC Wilmington.

Steffen Smith (76-74-74-224) finished in a tie for 36th to lead Gardner-Webb's group and was followed closely by Charlie Dallery (77-76-73-226) in a tie for 46th. Andy Yang (77-78-77-232), Patrick Wu (79-74-81-234) and Jonathan Henry (81-78-78-237) rounded out the Runnin' Bulldogs effort.

Host University of North Carolina won the tournament by six strokes over Illinois. GWU was the lone Big South team at the event.
