Tyler Marinelli Named to the Southern Conference Wrestling All-Conference Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Gardner-Webb redshirt-senior Tyler Marinelli earned a spot on the 2019 Southern Conference Wrestling All-Conference team, as announced by the league office Thursday morning.
Marinelli (Jefferson, Ga. / Jefferson HS) made the 10-man team at 165 pounds.
This season, Marinelli has posted an overall record of 24-2, including an unblemished mark of 14-0 in dual bouts. His only losses this year took place at the 2019 Southern Scuffle
Last year's SoCon champion at 157 pounds, Marinelli moved up to 165 pounds midway through the season. For his career, he has compiled an overall record of 94-35.
Marinelli enters the postseason with a RPI ranking of No. 22 and is ranked No. 24 in the NCAA Division I Coaches' Panel Rankings.
Gardner-Webb will begin the 2019 Southern Conference Wrestling Championship this Sunday at 10:00 am at the Holmes Convocation Center on the campus of Appalachian State University.
