Two PRs Set at Carolna Challenge Saturday Morning

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's and women's cross country teams kicked off the 2019 season Saturday morning, taking part in the Carolina Challenge, hosted by the University of South Carolina.
Both squads competed in races that were 5K in length, with a pair of new personal best times set on the day.
Patrick Sastre turned in the fastest time on the men's side, clocking in at 17:45.66. Mitchell Brown followed with a time of 18:44.56. Newcomer Joe Waller timed in at 18:56.06, while Bogdan Podgaisky crossed the line at 20:40.01 to set a new PR, and Cole Ray completed his first race for the Runnin' Bulldogs at 21:55.11.
Sanra Bolstad paced the GWU women's runners, timing in at a personal best time of 20:56.09. Courtney Kanetzke finished with a time of 23:40.44.
Gardner-Webb returns to action Saturday, September 14, taking part in the Winthrop/adidas Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
