Women’s Golf Takes 14th at Golfweek Program Challenge

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's golf team opened the 2019-20 season at the Golfweek Program Challenge, taking home a 14th place result.
The tournament took place at the 6,034 (Par 72) True Blue Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
GWU finished five strokes behind Illinois-Chicago and was four strokes better than Presbyterian. High Point claimed the tournament title, besting Marshall by four strokes.
Linnea Hofgren led Gardner-Webb (71-73-77-221) to finish in a tie for 14th individually. Allison Chandler (75-77-76-228) followed in a tie for 42nd.
Gillian O'Brien (81-79-83-243), Lindsay Koppel (86-78-81-245), and Ellis Harvie (80-79-86-245) rounded out the field for GWU.
Gardner-Webb returns to action on September 14 at the Upstate Challenge in Spartanburg, S.C.
