Gardner-Webb's Allison Chandler Named Big South Women's Golfer of the Week

CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb senior Allison Chandler was named Women's Golfer of the Week Thursday afternoon following a strong showing at the USC Upstate One Day event.
Chandler (Chester, Nova Scotia) finished in a tie for third individually with Appalachian State's Abby Bolt, carding a 73 over 18 holes. The pair was only two strokes out of first place at the end of the event, which was held at Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C., on Saturday.
Gardner-Webb was one of four teams competing, finishing third among a field that included Wofford, USC Upstate and Appalachian State.
Head coach Tee Burton's squad will head to Elon, N.C., on Monday for the 2019 Elon Women's Invitational (Sept. 23-24).
