Dingfield, Snover Claim CCSA Swimmer of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb swim team swept both of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Swimmer of the Week awards. As Zach Dingfield was named Men's Swimmer of the Week and Jessi Snover was named Women's Swimmer of the Week for their performances this past weekend against Wingate, announced today by the CCSA.
Dingfield (Sr. / Jacksonville, Fla.) was the top performer for the GWU men's squad against Wingate with three first-place finishes in his individual swims and was the anchor of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished first overall. He timed in at 21.63 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, 47.01 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle, and 1:42.73 in the 200-yard freestyle to beat out all competitors, and had a split of 20.38 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Snover (Jr. / Greer, S.C.) totaled four top-five finishes in her four swims at Wingate on Friday evening. In the 100-yard butterfly, she timed in at 56.99 seconds to take home a first-place finish and also anchored the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay team with a split of 52.52 seconds. In the 100-yard breaststroke, she placed fourth with a time of 1:07.85 and had a split of 25.62 seconds for the third-place 200-yard medley relay team.
Both Dingfield and Snover are Gardner-Webb's first CCSA honorees of the 2019-20 season.
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Friday afternoon at Auburn at 1:00 pm.
