CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb's Teodora Ristic has been named the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
 
Ristic (Nis, Serbia / Os Stefan Nemanja) was victorious in both singles and doubles action this past week against North Carolina Central.  In doubles, she partnered with Mayumi Saguchi for a 6-0 win at the No. 2 position, and in singles play, she took home a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 3 position, to help lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to a 7-0 win over the Eagles.
 
Gardner-Webb (1-1) returns to action Saturday afternoon, hosting Western Carolina at 2:00 pm at the Webb Tennis Courts.
