Gardner-Webb Swimming Has Strong Finish In Last Meet Of The Season

DAVIDSON, N.C. – On Friday evening Gardner-Webb men's and women's swimming faced off against Davidson College in their final dual meet of the season. The Runnin' Bulldogs women's team fell to Davidson with a score of 189 to 95, but the men came out on top with a score of 155 to 133.
 
In the women's 200 Yard Medley Relay, the squad of Kayla Smith, Jennifer Jackson, Audrey Robinson, and Jessi Snover took second place with a time of 1:49.27.
 
For the men's 200 Yard Medley Relay, the quartet of Brady Fields, Jordan Mintz, Tim Bennett, and Zach Dingfield took first place over Davidson by a margin of two seconds with a time of 1:32.35. The Foursome of Michael Robinson, Jonathan Frye, Cullen Fields, and Dowdy Sarvis placed third with a time of 1:36.02.
 
Hannah Carter finished fourth in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:17.62, and teammate Ashley Cesario placed fifth with a time of 11:27.24.
 
The men also had a fourth and fifth place finish in the men's 1000 Yard Freestyle. With Will Anderson taking fourth with a time of 10:10.95, and Justin Conklin placing fifth with a time of 10:11.81.
 
Alyssa Church finished fourth place in the women's 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:57.28, with her teammate Blake Broullire taking fifth less than a second behind Church with a time of 1:58.43.
 
In the men's 200 Yard Freestyle, Zach Dingfield took first with a time of 1:42.73, and teammate Chase Mattingly took second with a time of 1:43.88. Christian Jann placed fourth with a time of 1:44.91.
 
For the women's 100 Yard Backstroke, Kayla Smith placed second with a time of 58.73. Delaney Willette took fifth place with a time of 1:01.08, respectively.
 
Tim Bennett placed first in the men's 100 Yard Backstroke, clocking in with a time of 51.47. Fellow teammate Michael Robinson took fifth place with a finishing time of 53.31.
 
As for the women's 100 Yard Breaststroke, Jennifer Jackson placed fifth coming in with a 1:11.08, and Marguerite Sesti took sixth with a time of 1:13.78.
 
Jordan Mintz finished first in the men's 100 Yard Breaststroke with a smoking fast time of 59.98, with teammate Jonathan Frye also bringing the heat with a second-place finish and a time of 58.61. Zach Bennett also placed fourth with a time of 1:00.99.
 
In the women's 200 Yard Butterfly, Mary Traylor took a second-place finish with a time of 2:04.86.
 
The men took a one-two-three finish in the men's 200 Yard Butterfly. Chase Mattingly in first with a time of 1:55.08, Cullen Fields in second with a time of 1:55.14, and John O'Connell placed third with a time of 1:55.56.
 
For the women's 50 Yard Freestyle, Audrey Robinson took first place with a time of 24.48. Finishing fourth Blake Broullire had a time of 25.25, and Alyssa Church took fifth place with a time of 25.26.
 
In the men's 50 Yard Freestyle, Brady Fields took second place with a 21.85. Seggio Bernardina finished third with a time of 21.90, and teammate Dowdy Sarvis took fourth with a time of 22.08.
   
Jessi Snover finished first in the women's 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 52.84. Taking fourth, Alyssa Church went a 53.89, and teammate Blake Broullire took fifth with a time of 54.43.
 
Zach Dingfield took another first place finish in the men's 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 46.48, and Seggio Bernardina placed fifth with a time of 48.19
 
As for the women's 200 Yard Backstroke, Spencer Lucas claimed first place with a time of 2:06.66. Mary Traylor placed second not too far behind Lucas with a time of 2:06.97. Fellow teammate Laura Wakeley finished fourth with a time of 2:10.90, respectively. 
 
Tim Bennett posted a 1:54.26 to take second place in the men's 200 Yard Backstroke, with Michael Robinson taking fifth with a time of 1:57.87.
 
For the women's 200 Yard Backstroke, Marguerite Sesti took fifth place with a time of 2:34.48.
 
The men took another one-two-three finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, with Jordan Mintz finishing first with a time of 2:08.74, Justin Conklin taking second with a time of 2:09.55, and Jonathan Frye in third place with a time of 2:11.34.
 
Hannah Carter placed fifth in the women's 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:28.68, and fellow teammate Ashley Cesario taking sixth clocking in with a time of 5:36.43.
 
As for the men's 500 Yard Freestyle, Will Anderson placed fourth with a time of 4:56.25, and Drew Mintz took fifth place with a time of 5:00.99.
 
In the women's 100 Yard Butterfly, Audrey Robinson finished second with a time of 58.72, and Delaney Willette took sixth place with a time of 1:01.07.
 
Cullen Fields clocked in a first-place finish in the men's 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 50.74. Tim Bennett also took third with a time of 51.79, and Seggio Bernardina took fourth with a time of 52.27.
 
In the women's 200 Yard Individual Medley, Jessi Snover finished in second place with a time of 2:07.37, Mary Traylor took third with a time of 2:10.00, and Spencer Lucas placed fourth with a time of 2:11.88.
 
Chase Mattingly stole first place in the men's 200 Yard Individual Medley, clocking in with a time of 1:55.22. Jordan Mintz finished in second place with a time of 1:56.04, and Christian Jann took fourth with a time of 1:56.88.
 
To finish out the night in the women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the squad of Alyssa Church, Blake Broullire, Audrey Robinson, and Jessi Snover took first place with a time of 1:38.53.
 
In an exciting finish to the meet, the squad of Zach Dingfield, Brady Fields, Seggio Bernardina, and Drew Mintz also took first place in the men's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. The squad clocked in a time of 1:23.98.
