Men's Tennis Announces Schedule for 2021 Season

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb announced its men's tennis schedule for the 2021 season on Wednesday afternoon with the season opener to be played at Lenoir Rhyne at 2 p.m. on January 15.
Head Coach Mike Griffith said "As the defending regular season conference champions in 2019 and winners of five of the final six matches in the shortened 2020 spring season, we are wanting to take care of unfinished business from 2020."
The season will include five Big South Conference matches, 15 non-conference matches, and a tournament to be played from February 5-7 at UNC Asheville.
Head Coach Mike Griffith said, "The schedule is a perfect mix of home and away matches, even with the challenges of some universities not playing or not traveling in the spring, we have been able to compile a great schedule. We are excited about the home matches we will be playing this spring to make use of our great facility."
The Big South Men's Tennis Championship will be held at Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. on April 16 and 17. The top four teams in the conference from the regular season will make the tournament.
Gardner-Webb will start its league schedule on Feb. 14 at home vs. Longwood. The next league match will be at home vs. Campbell on Feb. 27. The last league competition for the 'Dogs will be played on April 7 vs. UNC Asheville.
The away league schedule will begin on March 13 at Presbyterian. March concludes with an away match against Radford.
Griffith returns five players from the previous season with four new players on the roster.
