Men's Tennis Student-Athletes Wrap Up Individual Fall Seasons

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Gardner-Webb men's tennis concluded its fall schedule and practice this past weekend with five players traveling to Hilton Head to take part in the Smith-Stearns Tennis Academy Halloween Tournament.
Connor Enslin, a sophomore, won the overall tournament at the event.
Following Enslin's victory, Head Coach Mike Griffith said, "This is the second tournament Connor has made the finals in, and for him reach the finals again, and win it all, is a good measuring stick for what he and our team will do next semester."
All five players at the event won a match at the tournament. The players were Sam Jones, Alex Griffiths, Enslin, Victor Putter, and Seb Harris. Four of the players who competed in the tournament are returning players from the past spring.
Griffith had this to say about the fall and the tournament, "This fall has been challenging but the guys took it upon themselves and sought out their competitions and got better in the process."
Enslin completed the event with a 4-0 record. Harris finished 4-1, winning the back draw of the tournament. Putter ended with the tournament a record of 3-2, finishing fourth overall. Griffiths and Jones each finished with a 1-1 record.
The Gardner-Webb Men's Tennis Team will have their first match is on Jan. 16th, 2021 at #13 Wake Forest.
