BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Jaheam Cornwall tied a career-high with 24 points and Gardner-Webb rolled to an 86-55 win over High Point Monday night for its second victory in a row.

The 'Dogs (10-14, 6-6 Big South) started off hot from the very beginning of the game and never looked back. In addition to Cornwall, Gardner-Webb got 17 points from Nate Johnson and a career-high 15 points from Justin Jenkins.

Eric Jamison, Jr. added nine points and 12 rebounds, Ludovic Dufeal had nine points and Kareem Reid finished with six points and a career-best 14 rebounds (10 offensive) in the win.

Gardner-Webb made a season-high 16-of-34 from long range (47.1 percent) and held a dominant 50-26 edge on the backboards – turning 18 offensive caroms into a 20-2 edge in second-chance points.

Nate Johnson hit his second three of the game to put Gardner-Webb up eight with 11:23 remaining in the first, then the Panthers (7-18, 4-8 Big South) pull together a quick four point run before the 'Dogs call a timeout with 8:10 remaining.

Gardner-Webb exploded from there, going on a decisive 17-0 run to take a 44-19 lead with 2:44 to play in the half. The big rally gave the 'Dogs a very comfortable 27-point lead over the Panthers with the halftime score of 47-20.

The lead grew to as large as 38 points in the second half, and didn't sink below the 30-point mark over the final eight minutes of the game.

Gardner-Webb shot 51.7 percent in the opening half and finished at 27-of-64 for the game (42.2 percent). The 'Dogs scored 21 points off of 12 High Point turnovers, ran to 16 points on the break and dished off 18 assists.

High Point shot 41.2 percent for the game (21-of-51), but made just 4-of-14 from long distance (28.6 percent). The Panthers also had just three offensive rebounds on the night.

Eric Coleman, Jr., led the way with 13 points and three other Panthers had eight points in the loss.

The Runnin' Bulldogs have a big game coming up on Thursday, February 13, as first-place Winthrop rolls into town for a nationally-televised game. The game will tip at 7:00 pm live on ESPNU.

The two teams engaged in an epic, three-overtime battle on January 11 in Rock Hill, a game that saw Winthrop take a 99-95 win. The series has experienced several memorable nail-biters in recent seasons.
