CLINTON, S.C. – A cold-shooting night doomed the Runnin' Bulldogs as Gardner-Webb dropped a 64-49 decision at Presbyterian in Big South Conference action on Tuesday evening.
Gardner-Webb (14-11, 9-7 Big South) saw its three-game win streak snapped, shooting at a 31.5 percent clip on the night, while Presbyterian (10-15, 6-10 Big South) made 46.2 percent of its attempts on the evening.
Carley Plentovich led GWU in scoring with 11 points on 5-of-16 shooting.
Lauren Bevis followed with 10 points on 2-of-3 shooting, including 4-of-4 from the free throw line, from the bench.
Presbyterian's Tionna Carter led all scorers on the evening with 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Trinity Johnson followed with 18 points on a 6-of-13 outing, and Jade Compton added 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Gardner-Webb returns to action this Saturday afternoon, wrapping up a three-game road trip at Winthrop. Tip-off is slated for 4:00 pm in Rock Hill, S.C, with live coverage of the game on ESPN+.
