Gardner-Webb Swimming Making Waves on Second Day of CCSA Championships

Knoxville, Tenn. – On Thursday evening, Gardner-Webb swimming wrapped up their second day of competition at the 2020 CCSA Championships at the University of Tennessee. At the end of the night, he women are ranked fourth overall with 280 points, and the men are in third place overall with 216.5 points.
In the women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the quartet of Audrey Robinson, Kayla Smith, Jennifer Jackson, and Jessi Snover took fourth place overall with a time of 1:33.47.
For the men's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the squad of Brady Fields, Zach Dingfield, Dowdy Sarvis, and Seggio Bernardina took first place by a margin of 1.2 seconds with a time of 1:20.11.
Will Anderson placed 12th in the men's 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:37.27, and teammate Drew Mintz placed 13th with a time of 4:37.64.
In the women's 200 Yard Individual Medley, Jessi Snover took second place with a time of 2:01.68. Spencer Lucas claimed sixth place with a time of 2:04.01, and Mary Traylor took eighth place with a time of 2:04.92.
As for the men's 200 Yard Individual Medley, Chase Mattingly took second place overall with a time of 1:48.17, while teammate Jordan Mintz came in sixth place with a time of 1:50.07.
Kayla Smith placed 10th in the women's 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 23.50, Audrey Robinson took 11th with a time of 23.55, and teammate Jennifer Jackson came in 15th with a time of 23.88, respectively.
In the men's 50 Yard Freestyle Gardner-Webb had a 1-2 finish, as Brady Fields claimed first place with a finish of 20.02 seconds, followed teammate Zach Dingfield in second place with a time of 20.13. Dowdy Sarvis placed 7th with a time of 20.53, and Seggio Bernardina placed 8th with a time of 20.55.
Gardner-Webb will be back in action tomorrow, Friday February 21st for day three of the 2020 CCSA Championships. Prelims start at 10:00am and Finals will start at 6:00 pm.
