Gardner-Webb Softball Splits Season Opener

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Friday afternoon Gardner-Webb softball split the season home opener in the AmericInn Gardner-Webb softball tournament. The Runnin' Bulldogs nearly swept Maryland Eastern Shore in the first game with a score of 19-1, Gardner-Webb. In the second game Gardner-Webb came up short with a final score of 9-5, Canisus. 
 
Game One Highlights:
  • Andrea Lyon had a grand total of six RBI.
  • Autumn Owen followed with five RBI.
  • Lyon and Owen both had a total of three hits.
  • Lyon was credited as the winning pitcher of the game.
 
Game Two Highlights:  
Gardner-Webb Softball is back in action for day two of the tournament tomorrow February 7th, 2:00 PM vs. Canisus, and 4:00 PM vs. Youngstown State.
