CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb senior
Daniela Naupari has been selected to the Big South Conference Women's Tennis All-Academic team for the 2019-20 academic year, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
Naupari (Lima, Peru / SS CC Recoleta) has compiled an overall GPA of 3.90 throughout her time at Gardner-Webb, majoring in Economics and Finance.
This season, Naupari posted a 4-4 record in singles action and was 6-3 in doubles play. Competing exclusively at the No. 2 position in singles, all four of her wins were in straight sets and she was also unblemished against Big South opponents with a 3-0 record. In doubles action, all of Naupari's matches took place at the No. 1 position, and she was also 3-0 against Big South foes.
Throughout her collegiate career, Naupari has totaled 35 singles wins and 25 doubles wins.
The Big South Women's Tennis All-Academic Team consists of one student-athlete from each institution that meets the criteria of having completed at least one academic year at the institution, maintains at least a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average and is of sophomore standing (academically and athletically). The team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year award are selected by the Big South Conference Sports Information Directors. Presbyterian College's Katie Thompson was named the 2020 Big South Conference Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
