April 20, 2020 | Women's Golf
CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb senior Allison Chandler was named 2020 Big South Conference Women's Golf Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Monday.
Chandler (Chester, Nova Scotia) is the third Gardner-Webb women's golfer to earn the award, joining Katie Graham (2009) and former teammate Taylor Dodson (2017) on that short and exclusive list.
Chandler carried a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA for her college career in her chosen major of accounting. This season she ranked second on the team and 12th in the Big South Conference with a 75.00 scoring average – a near three-stroke improvement from her previous best.
She had a low round of 69 in 2019-2020 and posted a pair of top-10 finishes individually for the Runnin' Bulldogs. Her round of 69 was fourth-best among all Big South women's golfers this past season.
Chandler also helped Coach Tee Burton's squad to a pair of second-place finishes during the fall season.
She is a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar Athlete.
