Gardner-Webb Has Pair Named To Men's Tennis Big South All-Decade Team

CHARLOTTE N.C. – Gardner-Webb men's tennis has two players named to the Big South Conference All-Decade Team presented by Hercules Tires.  The team was announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.Â

Maximilian Scholl (Stuttgart, Germany) was named to both the Singles All-Decade Team and the Doubles All-Decade Team. Evgeny Slesarev (Krasnoyarsk Russia) was also named to the Doubles All-Decade team.Â

A 15-person committee of Big South Conference administrators served as the official voting panel to determine the All-Decade Team, with fan voting comprising 20 percent of the overall total.Â

Scholl competed for GWU from 2016-2019 and was named to the All-Conference Singles Team all four years. Finished with 62 career victories, all from the No. 1 position. Earned Doubles All-Conference honors three times, compiling 56 career doubles wins. Â

Slesarev played for the Runnin' Bulldogs from 2007-2010. In the 2010 season, Slesarev was named the Men's Tennis Player of the Year for the Big South Conference.  The two-time All-Big South choice played his first two seasons in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
