BUIES CREEK, N.C.- Gardner-Webb earned four wins on the day, but dropped decisions to both Appalachian State and Campbell in Southern Conference wrestling action Saturday evening at Campbell's Gore Arena.
 
The Mountaineers took the first seven matchups of the afternoon, including by tech fall at 125 and 149 pounds to build a 25-0 lead.
 
Jha'Quan Anderson picked up the first win of the day for the Runnin' Bulldogs, picking up a 7-2 decision over Julian Gorring at the 184-pound weight class.
 
Anthony Perrine closed out action against Appalachian State by earning a 6-3 decision over Michael Burchell at the heavyweight class.
 
In the second dual of the day for the Runnin' Bulldogs, Campbell took the first five bouts, earning extra points in four.
 
At 165 pounds, RJ Mosley picked up a 5-2 decision over preseason SoCon honoree Austin Kraisser to put GWU on the board.
 
Perrine earned another win on the day, a 6-3 decision over Michael Burchell at heavyweight to wrap up the dual against the Camels.
 
Gardner-Webb returns to action Sunday, January 31, hosting both Bellarmine and VMI.  Action is set to begin at noon with VMI and Bellarmine facing each other, while GWU faces Bellarmine at 1:30 pm and VMI at 3:00 pm.  All matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+ (WatchESPN.com / ESPN App).
