Runnin’ Bulldogs Add No. 14 North Carolina to Schedule for Sunday Afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb wrestling team has added an additional dual meet to its schedule, squaring off against No. 14 North Carolina on Sunday, January 10 in Chapel Hill, N.C. at 1:00 pm.
Gardner-Webb (0-1) opened the season this past weekend against No. 4 N.C. State, falling by a 42-0 score. The 'Dogs also competed in a handful of extra matches against the Wolfpack, as well as Campbell. In the extra bouts, RJ Mosley earned a pair of wins at 165 pounds, while Evan Schenk picked up a win at 184 pounds and Gabriel Pickett earned a win at heavyweight.
Sunday's dual will be North Carolina's season opener. The Tar Heels finished with a 14-3 record last season with wins over five ranked opponents and had three individual champions at the 2020 ACC Wrestling Championships.
Prior to Sunday's meet, the Runnin' Bulldogs will take on Virginia on Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville, Va. Action begins at 1:00 pm with live coverage on ACC Network Extra.
