Morita Named Male Conference Runner of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced its weekly award winner for cross country on Wednesday afternoon. Ryan Morita was named the Male Runner of the Week for meets run between October 4-10. This is the first time Gardner-Webb has had a runner be chosen for this honor since Mike McClay in October of 2013.
Morita finished Friday's Royals Cross Country Challenge at 26:34 for a new PR, three minutes under his previous personal best set on September 18. Morita was the first finisher for the 'Dogs at the meet; his time was good enough for the 12th best in Gardner-Webb's school history.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, October 16 at USC Upstate. Following that, the Big South Conference Meet is up next on October 29.
