KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Gardner-Webb women's golf wrapped up play at the 2021 Buccaneer Classic on Tuesday, finishing 10th in the final team standings.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were one of six Big South schools participating in the 13-team field. Charlotte and Georgia Southern finished atop the standings. Host Charleston Southern took eighth, followed by Radford and – two strokes back – Gardner-Webb.
GWU (300-299-310-909) finished nine strokes in front of league foe Winthrop.
Kayla Dowell (75-75-73-223) led the Runnin' Bulldogs with a 26th-place individual finish, followed closely by
Dominika Burdova (75-72-77-224) who finished one stroke back.
Linnea Hofgren (has 71-73-84-228) finished in a tie for 46th and
Gillian O'Brien (79-79-79-237) finished 62nd.
Ellis Harvie (84-86-81-251) finished 69th.
Coastal Carolina's Tiffany Arafi shot 15-under par to win medalist honors.
Gardner-Webb will get back on the course next week, making the short drive for the 2021 Wofford Intercollegiate at Spartanburg Country Club on October 25.
