CLINTON, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's soccer team finished out their regular season with a two-win hot streak, beating Presbyterian College on Saturday night, which capped off a week of back-to-back 3-0 shutout wins.
"We needed to get these last two wins on the road to give us a chance for the postseason and now we wait and see what happens on Tuesday night," said head coach
Mike Varga. "Klara's goal helped us settle into the match and I thought we started to play better after that. Maddie did an excellent job finishing after a nice ball to put her in by Alisha and then Mo capped it off for us. Katelyn made a couple nice saves and our back line held steady for us. Good team win overall."
Klara Ovefelt opened up the scoring for the Runnin' Bulldogs at the 21:32 mark, scoring of a touch from
Maddie Turlington.
Turlington then scored the second goal of the night at three 32:52-minute mark, with
Alisha Holcombe earning the assist.
Sealing win for Gardner-Webb,
Moryah Snype found the back of net in the 71 minute, off of a pass from teammate Ali Varga.
The 'Dogs paced the matchup in shots with a total of 15, the Blue Hose took just 10. PC led in corners with nine, GWU had just one less. The Runnin' Bulldogs managed to have 10 fouls, the Blue Hose had just one less.

Katelyn Kellogg recorded four monster saves for the 'Dogs to earn the shutout win.
