CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb swim team wrapped up its third and final day of competition at the 2021 Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy Invitational. At the conclusion of the meet, the women took fifth-place overall with 625 points and the men took fourth with 871 total points.
In the women's 200-yard backstroke, Delany Willette took eight-place for the 'Dogs with a time of 2:05.39 at the finish. Willette was the first GWU swimmer to place top-8 in an individual event at the Fall Frenzy Invite.
As for the men's 200-yard breaststroke,
Jonathan Frye took sixth with a time of 2:05.85. Frye's finish cemented him as the second GWU swimmer to place top-8 or better in an individual event at the Fall Frenzy.
The squad of
Eliza Gunson,
Anna Frye,
Emma Maust, and
Alyssa Church took eighth-place in the women's 400-yard freestyle relay, as the clocked in with a time of 3:31.69 at the finish.
In the men's 400-yard freestyle relay, the squad of
Brady Fields,
Zuri Ramsey,
Theo Drescher, and
Seggio Bernardina took seventh overall with a time of 3:06.50 at the wall.
The 'Dogs will be back in action the first weekend of January, as they are set to take on the Wingate Bulldogs.
