RADFORD, Va.- The Gardner-Webb volleyball team fell in three sets at Radford in Big South Conference action on Super Bowl Sunday inside the Dedmon Center.
Gardner-Webb (0-2, 0-2 Big South) dropped all three sets to Radford (2-0, 2-0 Big South0 by scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-20. The Runnin' Bulldogs had 28 kills on 114 attempts for a .018 hitting percentage, while the Highlanders tallied 33 kills on 96 attacks for a .208 hitting percentage.
Madison Deslatte paced the GWU attack with nine kills on 20 swings, followed by
Audrey Gun with eight kills on 26 attempts. Lauren Roccassin dished out a team-best 13 assists, followed by Tory Weatherley with 11 helps.
Delaney McCullough led the 'Dogs on the block with one block solo and two block assists.
Sophia Bolden and
Mikah McIntosh each led the team with 10 digs.
Radford was led on the attack by Taylor O'Neal with nine kills, while Jordan Coomes had a match-high 23 assists. Kennedi Johnson led the Highlanders with five block assists and O'Neal also led the team with 11 digs.
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Saturday, February 13, hosting Presbyterian at 12:00 pm inside Paul Porter Arena.
