BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb continued their winning efforts with a 5-2 victory over Davidson on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This is the first time the team has broken .500 to have a winning record this season.

Gardner-Webb swept the doubles matches to start the day.
Stefano Puga and
Breno Plentz won the #2 flight by a 6-2 decision. To remain undefeated as a pair,
Chrisjan Van Wyk and
Victor Putter won the #1 position 6-3 to clinch the point. The win moved the duo to 9-0 when paired together. Doubles action ended with
Sebastian Harris and
John Spring winning in the #3 match 7-5. With this win, both players finished the week with wins in all three matches played.
Singles started with a quick, dominant Putter victory in the #1 flight 6-2, 6-1. Following this match, Davidson clinched a point in the #4 flight with Camden Mazzoni's win over
Connor Enslin 6-1, 6-3. Harris triumphed in the #5 match for his sixth-straight singles victory 7-6(4), 6-2.
Plentz clinched the match for the Runnin' Bulldogs at the #3 flight in a three-set thriller 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.
The last two matches of the day had tiebreakers in the third set. In the #6 position, Spring came back from a first set loss 5-7, 6-4, 10-1. The victory marked his sixth-straight in singles. The day concluded with Davidson's Maxwell Kachkarov defeating Van Wyk 1-6, 7-6(6), 10-5.
"We are looking forward to the last part of the season and playing another match on Friday," said Griffith.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action on Friday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. for a conference match at Radford. The matchup features two of the three remaining undefeated teams in Big South Conference play.
