Women's Tennis Championship Seedings Officially Set by Big South Conference

CHARLOTTE – The Big South Conference announced the teams who qualified for the 2021 Women's Tennis Championship to be completed this weekend at Marion Diehl Park. Gardner-Webb earned the #4 seed for the tournament.
The Runnin' Bulldogs match up against #1 Charleston Southern Buccaneers on the 17th at 9:00 a.m. for the first semifinal of the day. The other semifinal will see #2 Presbyterian Blue Hose and #3 Radford Highlanders play at noon on the same day. The winner of these matches will square off in the championship for the title of Big South Conference Champion on the 18th at noon.
Chalreston Southern finished the regular season with a perfect 6-0 record for the #1 seed. Presbyterian and Radford each had a 4-2 mark in conference play.
The team finished Big South play with a 2-3 record; both victories came at home for the Runnin' Bulldogs. All three losses for Gardner-Webb were against the other Big South Championship qualifiers.
The 'Dogs opened conference play with a 4-3 win over UNC Asheville. They dropped their next two matches at Charleston Southern and Presbyterian, each by a 3-4 decision. Gardner-Webb won their next match against Longwood 4-0 for their second conference win of the year. To finish the year, the 'Dogs lost at Radford 2-5 for their third Big South defeat of the year.
