Men's and Women's Golf Completes First Competition of 2021 Fall Season

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb Men's and Women's Golf Teams competed in their first events of the fall season at the Golfweek Fall Invitational. The men finished in 12th competing at True Blue Golf Club while the women ended the competition at 10th at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club.
Gillian O'Brien ended the event tied for 12th overall, pacing the Runnin' Bulldogs with a three-day score of 217. Linnea Hofgren and Dominika Burdova each tied for 20th and had a 219. Kayla Dowell had her lowest round of the tournament on the last day, shooting a 74. Ellis Harvie backed up the team finishing with a total score of 250.
Leading the men's team was Zack Byers who ended the tournament at -5. Byers shot seven-under for the last day, tied for the second-lowest round at True Blue Golf Club. Miles Albright finished next for the 'Dogs with a +1, and Mark Chandler was next with a tournament score of +5. Jules Bondil ended at 223, and Braden Smith with a 228.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will play their next event at the Elon Women's Fall Invitational from September 20-21.
