ATLANTA, Ga. - The Gardner-Webb swim team faced off against Georgia Tech at the McAuley Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets swept the Runnin' Bulldogs, as the men fell with a score of 169-85, and the women lost with a score of 168-85.

The 'Dogs saw success in two out of four relay events in today's competition. In the women's 200-yard freestyle relay, the squad
Kayla Smith,
Delaney Willette, Marina Valles, and
Emma Maust placed first with a time of 1:40.72 in the event. On the men's side, the squad of
Seggio Bernardina,
Tim Bennett,
Drew Mintz, and
Brady Fields placed first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.59 at the finish.Â

Gardner-Webb also saw success in the 200-yard individual medley. On the women's side,
Abby Surley (2:14.17),
Adrianna Barone (2:17.81), and
Laura Wakeley (2:22.19) captured the one-two-three sweep. The men also captured the one-two-three sweep with
Daniel Baldwin (1:59.26),
Christian Jann (1:59.67), and
Ryan Taylor (2:03.07).

Gardner-Webb will be back in action on Wednesday, February 16 as they are set to compete in the 2022 CCSA Championship, which will be held at the Liberty Natatorium in Lynchburg, Virginia.Â
