Perriello Named Big South Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE – The Big South Conference announced the winners of their weekly runners of the week on Wednesday afternoon. Gardner-Webb's Jessica Perriello earned the title of freshman of the week.
Perriello was the first finisher for the Runnin' Bulldogs at Queens on Friday after finishing in a personal best time of 19:04. The race consisted of over 250 competitors with her coming across the line in 56th overtaking 14 runners in the final kilometer of the race. In each of the three events this season, Perriello had clipped over 30 seconds off each of her previous performances.
Gardner-Webb will be back in action this Saturday at USC Upstate with a 9:00 a.m. start. The men will compete in the 8K with the women running a 5K in the team's final race before the Big South Championship meet on Saturday, October 29.
