Phillips Selected as Big South Freshman of the Week for Third Time in 2022

CHARLOTTE – The Big South Conference announced the winners of the weekly wards on Wednesday afternoon and selected Dylan Phillips as the Freshman of the Week. This marked his third time winning the award of the fall.
Phillips was the top finisher for the Runnin' Bulldogs as the team competed in the USC Upstate Invitational on Saturday morning. He finished the 8K in a 26:17, knocking almost a full minute off his previous 8K personal best set last month.
He has been able to compete in three of the team's four meets during the regular season and has been selected as the conference's freshman of the week following each of those performances. Phillips set a record for most FOTW selections from the Big South in a season since its inception last season.
Gardner-Webb's last meet of the season will be on Saturday, October 29 at Longwood as they compete in the Big South Conference Championship. The women's 5K will start at 10 a.m. with the men's 8K scheduled for 11 a.m.
