Gardner-Webb Women Drop 6-1 Decision To Kennesaw State Saturday On Tennis Courts

BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb dropped a non-conference women's tennis match Saturday to Kennesaw State, falling 6-1 on the home courts.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (1-2) got a win from its No. 3 doubles tandem of Katie Watts and Emilia Rosland to knot things up in that battle, but the Owls prevailed with a 7-6 win by Ji Youn Lee and Valentia Taddia to clinch the point.
Kennesaw State won several close matches in singles play, with Gardner-Webb taking one match when Maria Jardim defeated Taddia (6-2, 4-6, 6-3).
Gardner-Webb has little time to rest, as it heads to Greensboro, N.C., on Sunday to battle the Elon Phoenix. The match will be held indoors at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center and will start at 5:30 pm.
