
Gardner-Webb Has Strong Showing On Day One Of CCSA Championships

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Gardner-Webb swimming competed in day one of the CCSA Championships on Wednesday, earning two golds to start the meet off strong.
Emma Maust placed fifth in the women's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.01 at the finish.
In the men's 500-yard freestyle, Theo Drescher placed fifth with a time of 4:30.92 at the finish, teammate Garrett Despres placed eighth with a time of 4:37.65 at the wall.
As for the men's 200-yard individual medley, Christian Jann took eighth place with a time of 1:51.78 at the finish.
Brady Fields claimed gold for the Runnin' Bulldogs in the men's 50-yard freestyle, as he clocked in a time of 20.16 seconds at the wall. Fields has become the first student-athlete to win the event three consecutive times in CCSA championship history. Seggio Bernardina took seventh in the event as well with a time of 20.58 seconds.
The relay squad of Brady Fields, Jonathan Frye, Tim Bennett, and Seggio Bernardina took home the gold in the men's 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:27.25 at the finish.
