Gardner-Webb Takes Gold In Men’s 200-Yard Free Relay On Day Two Of CCSA Championships

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Gardner-Webb splashed into day two of the CCSA Championships, locking several big swims in the final's session on Thursday night.
In the women's 200-free relay, the squad of Alyssa Church, Kayla Smith, Alexandra Haasser, and Eliza Gunson placed fifth with a time of 1:34.80 at the finish.
As for the men's 200-free relay, the squad of Brady Fields, Logan Cornelison, Tim Bennett, and Seggio Bernardina took gold for the 'Dogs with a time of 1:20.25, which is a new conference record.
Tim Bennett placed second in the men's 100-yard fly, clocking in a time of 47.63 at the wall. Cullen Fields placed fourth with a time of 47.89, Seggio Bernardina placed eighth with a time of 48.98.
In the men's 400-yard individual medley, Christian Jann placed sixth with a time of 4:00.77 at the wall.
Theo Drescher (1:39.47) placed fifth and Logan Cornelison (1:41.67) placed eight in the men's 200-yard free.
In the women's 400-yard medley relay, the squad of Kayla Smith, Abby Surley, Ashley Cesario, and Alyssa Church placed seventh with a time of 3:49:54 at the finish.
As for the men's 400-yard medley relay, the squad of Brady Fields, Jonathan Frye, Cullen Fields, and Seggio Bernardina placed second, clocking in a time of 3:16.10 at the wall.
Gardner-Webb will be back in action tomorrow for day three of CCSA Championships.
