Gardner-Webb Wraps Up Day Three Of CCSA Championships

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Gardner-Webb swimming wrapped up day three of competition at the CCSA Championships, which featured a handful of big podium finishes.Â

In the men's 100-yard backstroke, Brady Fields placed second with a time of 48.04 seconds at the wall. Tim Bennett followed in third with a finishing time of 48.04 seconds in the event and Daniel Baldwin placed seventh with a time of 50.09 seconds.Â

Jonathan Frye placed third in the men's 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 55.77 seconds at the finish.Â

As for the men's 200-yard butterfly, Cullen Fields took fourth place, clocking in a time of 1:47.55 at the wall. Field's time qualfies as a new school record in the event.

In the women's 800-yard freestyle relay, the squad of Emma Maust, Ashley Cesario, Adrianna Barone, and Alyssa Church placed six with a time of 7:35.21 at the finish.Â

As for the men's 800-yard freestyle relay, the squad of Theo Drescher, Logan Cornelison, Christian Jann, and Tim Bennett locked in a third-place finish with a time of 6:41.41 in the event.Â

At the end of day three, the women currently sit in seventh place with 448.5 points, while the men are in third with 521 points.Â

The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow for the fourth and final day of CCSA Championships.
