BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb won eight of 10 weight classes Friday night, wrapping up the regular season with a dominant, 28-7 win over Presbyterian in Paul Porter Arena.
 
On a night that the program honored its five seniors, Gardner-Webb (7-7, 5-2 SoCon) picked up 14 team points from that class of standouts to spark the win. 
 
After the Blue Hose opened with a 16-2 major decision by Jacob Brasseur at 125 pounds, Gardner-Webb rallied with a decision from Todd Carter at 133 and an 11-6 major decision from senior Trevon Majette at 141.
 
Senior Brandon Bright rallied in the third period for a late 3-1 decision to push the team score to 10-4 and, after the Blue Hose took a decision at 157 pounds, RJ Mosley steamrolled to a 17-2 tech fall in just 3:39 to stretch the lead to 15-7.
 
Senior Evan Schenk battled to a high-scoring 11-7 decision at 174 pounds and Jha'Quan Anderson scored a late takedown at 184 pounds to win 3-1.
 
Senior Anthony Perrine cruised to an 11-2 major decision at 197 pounds, going up early and finishing off his career in Paul Porter Arena in fine fashion.
 
Gardner-Webb capped the rout with a 6-0 shutout by Peyton McComas at 285 pounds.
 
Up next for Gardner-Webb is the 2022 SoCon Wrestling Championship, which is set for Boone, N.C., on March 5.
