Women's Tennis Wins 7-0 in Big South Opener

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Women's Tennis opened their Big South schedule with a 7-0 win over Hampton on Monday afternoon. The 'Dogs did not drop a set all match in any competitions.
Teodora Ristic and Maria Jardim won 6-0 on court 2 followed by Manon Delsol and Elin Hellberg winning 6-1 on court 1 to clinch the doubles point. Katie Watts and Emilia Roslund won 6-2 in position #3.
The 'Dogs dominated in singles as well, not allowing the Pirates to have more than two games in one set. Ristic won 6-0, 6-0 in the topflight followed by Delsol winning 6-0, 6-1 at #2. Roslund clinched the team's win in flight #6 by a 6-1, 6-0 decision.
Hellberg was victorious in hers 6-1, 6-2 at court #4. Jardim won hers in position #3, 6-0, 6-1. The day ended with Courtney Fyvie winning 6-1, 6-2 to finish off the 7-0 sweep of Hampton.
Gardner-Webb has their next match at UNC Asheville on Wednesday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. as the team will look to start 2-0 in Big South play.
