CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb senior Zack Byers was named Big South Conference Men's Co-Golfer of the Week on Thursday following a terrific individual performance.

Byers (Shelby, N.C.) posted his best individual finish of the season with a third-place standing at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate (par 70, 6,617 yards) with a 1-under par 209 (69-69-71).  

He was the top finisher of the 20 Big South golfers in the event, sinking eight birdie putts and carding one eagle. Byers opening day score of 138 over 36 holes was the best by a Gardner-Webb golfer this spring to date.

Gardner-Webb will be back in action on Monday, March 21 at the ECU Pirate Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C.
