MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Gardner-Webb women's golf finished 10th at the 2022 GolfWeek Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate Wednesday afternoon.
GWU finished two strokes in front of Jacksonville (Fla.) and one strike behind UNC Asheville in the team standings, posting scores of 306-308-313 (927) for the week. The 17-team tournament was played on the 6,101-yard (Par 72) True Blue Course.
Dominika Burdova shot par on Wednesday to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs, and finished 19th individually. Tuesday's team leader,
Linnea Hofgren, finished two strokes back in 23rd place and Neza Siftar was one stroke off that pace in 26th.
Hofgren sank 11 birdie putts this week, which ranked fourth among all golfers competing.
Kayla Dowell and
Gillian O'Brien rounded out Gardner-Webb's group.
Host Coastal Carolina won't he team title by four strokes per Incarnate Word, despite shooting 19 strokes above their Tuesday score in the final round. The Chanticleers' Tiffany Arafi and Incarnate Word's Ellen Nicholas tied for medalist honors.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday, competing at the 2022 Mimosa Hills Women's Intercollegiate in Morganton, N.C.
