CHARLOTTE, N.C. - #4 Gardner-Webb is set to face #1 Campbell in the semifinal round of the 2022 Hercules Tires Big South Women's Basketball Championship on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The matchup will be the 42nd meeting between the two teams. Campbell owns the series with 27 wins, as Gardner-Webb has 14. The Runnin' Bulldogs have won the most recent meeting between the two league foes, as they topped the Camels on February 19th with a final score of 59-56.

Last Time Out: Gardner-Webb topped High Point on Thursday in the quarterfinal round with a final score of 55-53, marking its third victory over the Panthers this season. At the conclusion of the regular season, Smith leads the Big South in steals averaging 2.8 per contest and is ranked 12th in the nation. The sophomore is seventh in the conference in blocks, averaging 1.0 per game this season. In championships, Smith has shot 35.7% (5-for-14) from the floor, 75.0% (6-for-8) at the charity stripe, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had four blocks. This season Smith has recorded 14 double-doubles. Smith earned POTW honors twice this season.Â

Watching Williams: Second Team All-Conference Senior
Jhessyka Williams finished conference play with 15.9 points per game and was fourth in rebounds grabbing an average of 8.4 per game. Williams ranks fifth in steals in the conference averaging 2.0 per contest. The Augusta, Ga. native is fifth in blocked shots averaging 1.2 per contest. This season, Williams has earned POTW honors a total of three times, two of those during conference play, while also recording 10 double-doubles throughout the season. In championships, Williams has shot 80.0% (8-for-10) from the floor, 33.3% (1-for-3) at the free-throw line, grabbed six rebounds, with three steals and a single block.Â

Lauren Bevis led the team in three-pointers made this season, and ranks second in the Big South with her 72 makes this season, 2.7 per game. This season Bevis led the Big South at the free-throw line at 85.2% (75-for88) and ranks 44th nationally. Bevis is third on the team in scoring as she averaged 13.8 points per contest this season. u2020-21 Fourth-Place Finish: Looking back, Gardner-Webb finished the previous 2020-21 season with a fourth-place finish in the Big South, wrapping up their season with a 75-58 loss to High Point in the semifinals of the Big South Conference Championship.
