Gardner-Webb Receives #3 Seed for Big South Women's Tennis Championship

CHARLOTTE – Women's Tennis earned the #3 seed for the upcoming Big South Championship as announced by the conference this afternoon. The Runnin' Bulldogs will host their first-round matchup against #6 Radford on Thursday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m.
The 'Dogs finished conference play with a 6-2 record, the team's best winning percentage in Big South matches school history. The six wins also tied their record for the most in a single year. This season marks the third-straight year that Gardner-Webb earned a top-four seed for the tournament.
Charleston Southern went undefeated in the Big South to take the top overall seed for back-to-back years. Campbell came in next at 7-1, with Gardner-Webb next. The #4-6 spots saw each team finish at 4-4. After tiebreakers, UNC Asheville is #4, followed by Presbyterian at #5, and Radford at #6.
First-round matches will be held at campus sites. #3 GWU will host #6 Radford while #4 UNC Asheville will welcome #5 Presbyterian. The semifinals and finals of the tournament will be held at Marion Diehl Park in Charlotte, N.C. on March 22 and 23. #1 Charleston Southern will face the winner of the #4/5 match, and #2 Campbell will go against the #3/6 match-winner with the final two playing against each other on Sunday.
