Gardner-Webb Trio Earns Big South Conference Women's Golf Postseason Honors

CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb's Dominika Burdova and Linnea Hofgren earned All-Big South Conference Women's Golf honors Monday, with Kayla Dowell earning a spot on the All-Freshman Team.
Burdova (Liberec, Czech Republic) also earned a spot on the league's All-Academic Team. She carries a 3.73 cumulative GPA in her journalism major and led Gardner-Webb during the regular season with a 75.65 scoring average. Burdova also ranked among the Big South's best with four top-10 finishes during the season and improved her scoring average by more than two strokes from last season.
She was named second-team All-Big South as a result of her efforts. Burdova finished 14th individually at the recent Big South Conference Women's Golf Championship in Ninety Six, S.C.
Hofgren (Molnlycke, Sweden) earned honorable mention All-Big South Conference honors and ranked second this season on Gardner-Webb's roster with a 76.12 scoring average during the regular season.
She was named Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on September 23 after finishing second with low rounds of 70 and 71 at the 2021 Elon Invitational. Hofgren finished in a tie for eighth at the Big South Championship.
Dowell (Mebane, N.C.) finished tied for 24th at the Big South Championship and enjoyed a strong rookie season for the Runnin' Bulldogs. She averaged 74.64 shots per round during the fall season and was named Big South Freshman of the Week after finishing seventh at the 2021 Elon Fall Invitational.
